If you've read US Weekly recently, you know there's trouble brewing on the set of the new reality show The Muppets. Most notably, Kermit and Piggy broke up. OMG! In even juicier gossip, Kermit is now dating a new pig, Denise, who works in marketing at ABC.
I prefer to remember this frog and swine during their golden times as a cuddly couple. Remember when they were young kids trying to get their first film, The Muppet Movie, produced in Hollywood? You can also view this classic as a downloadable video.
Once their careers catapulted them into the spotlight, no one made a cuter puppet couple than these two. In The Muppets Take Manhattan they even tied the knot. Kermit looked a little green at the gills at the altar, but who could blame him for questioning their ever-tumultuous romance?
Their heartwarming reboot of a holiday staple, The Muppet Christmas Carol, marked a high point of their partnership. After taking some time apart, they reunited in The Muppets to stop an evil oil tycoon from tearing down their iconic theater. Nothing says "I love you" like hosting a telethon together.
How could their love fall apart? I guess we'll just have to watch their new documentary-style show when it premieres on September 22 to see if they can work side by side like professionals. Something tells me Piggy's temper might flare, resulting in some of her famous karate chops. I sure hope so.
