Artist Statement

We were all called for a special purpose in life. My calling to be an artist began with my recognition of such balanced beauty in an artist's perfect work of art... the creation. For me, art and meaning begins there, and I prefer to manifest it in the urban culture. Art is the representation of a material object, vision, idea or thought done through my interpretation. The influence that I have had that allows me to interpret things the way I do is the great concrete jungle; the inner city in all its diversity. Equally as important is the media used to create such art in describing or emphasizing a point. My goal is to capture the profound problem of what art can be and prepare it to exalt the eyes and from that, plant a seed of personal reflection into the soul of the viewer. If I can do this, then call me an artist.
