Did you know that Chicago Public Library has a Library of Things? It is available at locations throughout the city. The Library of Things is an ever-expanding collection of items that aim to make your life easier (such as with the Garden Tool Set), delight you (like a kalimba) or allow you to try something you have thought about purchasing (like a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, Paper Shredder or a vacuum food sealer) , but aren't quite ready to commit. And new to the Harold Washington Library Center, a variety of grip-strength assistive tools, including a Pen Holder and Book Holder.
And so much more! We regularly add new items to the Library of Things, so keep checking back.
To access the Library of Things, visit one of the locations below. Items must be returned to the branch you checked it out from during open hours. Items are generally not holdable, and loan duration varies by location. Please contact Library of Things locations for details:
