National Grandparents Day, September 7, is a day to celebrate all of the wise, older people in your life--whether they're your grandma, your grandpa or someone else special to you.
My grandma, Ginnie, is one of my favorite people! She has 17 grandchildren (and 21 great-grandchildren with two more on the way!), but she always finds a way to make sure each of us feel special. Grandma cooks delicious meatballs, has a collection of hundreds of snowmen figures and makes sure we never leave her house without a bag of treats. More than the treats and snowmen, the thing I love most is spending time with my grandma. She tells great stories and has the best snort-laugh!
On Grandparents Day, take time to tell your grandparents you love them, and then read one of these stories together! Check out the full list of great titles for Grandparents Day for even more options!
Grandma Calls Me Gigglepie is one of my favorite board books because it's so fun to read out loud and act out! Grandma calls me gigglepie, kissy lips, tricky chick, and more....all because she loves me!
Grandmother and I reminds me how comfy it is to sit with grandma in a rocking chair, rocking back and forth, back and forth as grandma hums little tunes.
James and Eamon are so funny in A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever! They go to stay with Eamon's grandparents Bill and Pam to attend a nature camp....but they have MUCH more fun at Bill and Pam's than at camp!
I love that Me With You shows how special grandpas are. No matter what we are doing, from playing baseball to singing off key, my favorite me will always be me with my grandpa.
Do your grandparents have a Hello, Goodbye window like Nanny and Poppy? It might look like a regular window, but it's not. Everything important happens near, through, or beyond The Hello, Goodbye Window.
Which book do you want to read with your grandparents this Grandparents Day?
