Happy Birthday to a Dreamer!

On Wednesday, September 24, we should all take a moment to remember a man whose creative genius has had an impact on our lives. Whether you grew up watching Sesame Street, are old enough to remember that he was once in the cast of Saturday Night Live or even had a Kermit Clein poster on your bedroom wall, most of us know the name Jim Henson. Jim would be celebrating his 78th birthday this year, but, unfortunately, he was taken from us too soon in 1990.

Celebrate his life by checking out one of his works.  Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

The Muppet Movie tells the story of how Kermit and all of his friends got together.  On a road trip out west in their first of many movies, Kermit and his friends must avoid the evil Doc Hopper.

It's Not Easy Being Green is a book of quotes by and inspired by Jim Henson.

Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird is the first feature film for the Sesame Street Gang. After being forced to relocate, Big Bird tries to find his way back home to Sesame Street.

Personally, I'll be curled up with my DVD copy of Labyrinth.
