Filipino-American Artist: Light Paintings by Lea M. Rivera at HWLC

In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, paintings by Lea M. Rivera will be exhibited from May 1 to June 30 at Harold Washington Library Center, 3rd floor.

Lea M. Rivera was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ever since she was little, she has loved to draw and paint images such as nature and people on paper. Soul Borne Light is a series of chalk drawings inspired by the playful movement of light, color and poetry. Rivera holds an associate’s degree in the arts from College of DuPage and has trained at AMTC workshops for acting in theater and film. She is musically influenced through piano, guitar and ukulele, and was seasonally trained in voice lessons at North Central College.
