YOUmedia Staff Bio
Christina started working in libraries as a page while in high school, but did not realize she wanted to be a librarian until much later. With a love of reading and working with teens, she pursued a degree in English and secondary education from the University of Illinois. While student teaching, she developed an appreciation for school library services and the unique role a librarian can play in the life of a teen as both a mentor and friend. Since receiving her master's in library and information science from Dominican University in 2011, she has worked as a reference and teen librarian, and couldn't be more excited to be the YOUmedia/Teen Services librarian at Chinatown Branch. She has called Chicago home since 2012 and loves riding her bike along the lakefront, photographing the city, collecting records, seeing live music, traveling, thrifting and discovering new restaurants in her neighborhood.
