February brings many celebrations each year. Perhaps the biggest for young students is the 100th day of school. Day 100 is a great opportunity for primary grade students to show off their newly developed math skills by counting from 1 to 100, by ones, fives, tens, twenties, and more. Add in some great books about this special day for a memorable celebration.
On the first day of kindergarten, Henry's teacher tells the class she'll put a jelly bean in a jar for each day of school. When the jar is filled, they will have a 100th day party and eat all the jelly beans. Henry's 100 Days of Kindergarten are fun and full of learning through the fall and into winter. When the 100th day of school arrives, the kindergartners share hundreds of collected words, marshmallows and crafts, but Henry's show and tell guest demonstrates 100 in a different way.
In 100th Day Worries, Jessica has trouble choosing 100 items for her classroom collection. She worries that ice cubes would be too melty and toothpicks too pointy. Her classmates start counting their items early in the week, but Jessica and her family only manage to gather 90 bits and pieces for her collection. Will Jessica complete her project in time?
A misunderstanding leads to this class celebrating 100 Days of Cool on their way to the 100th day of school.
