Art Exhibit by Tita Recometa-Brady at Budlong Woods Branch

Budlong Woods Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit in May featuring artist Tita Recometa-Brady.

About the Artist

Tita Recometa-Brady holds a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Sto. Tomas, Philippines and a master of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago through a Fulbright-Hays Grant. She taught at the University of the East and Ateneo de Manila before pursuing her studies here. She continued teaching at Saint Francis Academy (Joliet Catholic Academy), Robert Morris College and Valley View District 365-U, where she retired from. She has had several solo exhibits and participated in group shows in different cities.

She uses her abstract style on her favorite subjects: “sun, land, city” and Word Series.

Artist Statement

Thank you for this opportunity of exhibiting my WORD SERIES. It is a culmination of work inspired by: the desire to promulgate “some words-of-wisdom” and creating designs based on these words. These words have had a direct influence on my learning as well as on my teaching.
