- Monday & Wednesday: 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday & Thursday: 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What We Do
Our YOUmedia space is a place dedicated to high school teens. Our space and workshops focus on art, crafts and gaming (digital and analog). Our space is connected to our Maker Space (3D printing, vinyl cutting, sewing and button making) as well as our Teen Recording Studio.
You can borrow teen laptops for use in our space and play video games. Staff will work with you to use our maker space equipment and get you certified to use our recording studio.
YOUmedia equipment is available for free to teens in high school.

It's an open environment where you choose what you want to do and skilled library staff provide coaching and assistance. You can hang out, mess around and geek out. All YOUmedia locations have books, 3D printers, laptops, cameras, music and gaming equipment, and some YOUmedia locations have sewing machines and more.

YOUmedia is available at all CPL locations.

At most locations you can come to YOUmedia if you are 13 years old. Harold Washington Library Center YOUmedia is strictly for high school students.

YOUmedia is free. It doesn't cost anything to use equipment or visit any YOUmedia space.
