Now is a great time to check out Budlong Woods Branch's exquisite new neighbor, the West Ridge Nature Preserve, on Western Avenue at Ardmore Avenue.

This new Chicago Park District site includes a lake, 20 acres of woodland, walking trails and a surprising variety of urban wildlife.

The West Ridge Nature Preserve Advisory Council is sponsoring a monthly Family Nature Day. Learn about worms, insects and arachnids at the next one, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25.
