Drag Queens Celebrate LGBT Pride Month at Albany Park Branch

On June 7, Albany Park Branch hosted three local drag performers in celebration of LGBT Pride Month.

Drag Queens Behind the Scenes began with a one-hour make-up transformation and panel discussion with The Lady Ivory, Krissy Feetface and Toyota. The Lady Ivory demonstrated various make-up techniques, such as contouring and eyelash application, while members of the audience asked questions of all three performers. Conversation topics included starting out in drag (it's really expensive!), drag names ("Krissy Feetface" started as a funny nickname in college) and the supportive nature of the Chicago drag community.

After the make-up demonstration, each performer lip synced to two songs and Toyota sang a live rendition of a Chicago favorite for the packed audience.

Thanks again to our wonderful performers!
