An inspiration to 16-year-old Marlondra of South Chicago Branch is Buddy Valastro.
"He is the owner of a bakery in New Jersey named Carlos' Bakery. I found my love of baking pastries through his show, 'Cake Boss,' and Buddy has inspired me to be a pastry chef."
Marlondra explained that "baking has been my 'go-to place'" as has Buddy's show. "I learned how baking can help lighten bad moods," and how "baking can be used to demonstrate emotion and art." Check out this exciting YouTube video she shared about a Sweet 16 cake.
Marlondra added that "on Buddy's show, he shows how he can be determined to make cakes and get them to where they need to be. Outside of my family, he inspires me to be determined with what I do—even beyond baking."
