Teen Voices: Featuring Gregg

Each month we spotlight a teen at CPL.

This past week Gregg honorably earned the most points on the YOUmedia leaderboard at the Richard M. Daley Branch for the second time in a row.

Over the past four months, Gregg has developed some amazing skills in stop motion animation. Using his creativity, Gregg has made numerous animations using Legos, clay and action figures.

He gets his creativity from reading, with a particular interest in science fiction, and is an active participant in teen book clubs. In the future, Gregg is interested in working with NASA. He even recently designed a 3D-printed rocket!

We asked him what he liked doing in YOUmedia and what he has learned while there. In his own words:

I like making YouTube videos and having fun. I like doing the workshops, and it gives me the time to reconnect with my friends, and it's a good place to get a break from school. I've learned how to do stop motion and master Naruto. I've learned about other places and how to use Adobe Photoshop, and I've been able to meet other people from my school.

YOUmedia has given a space to showcase Gregg's many talents and has allowed him to explore new interests. His future is bright and he is looking forward to a productive and fun summer!
