Teen Voices: Featuring Cindy

Each month we spotlight a teen at CPL.

Cindy is a senior at George Westinghouse College Prep and loves to read sad books (really, truly). Some of her favorite books include Gabi, A Girl in Pieces by Isabel QuinteroFlowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and Spanish literature such as that of Gabriel García Márquez.

Last summer, she was an AfterSchool Matters Intern for Archer Heights Branch, and we were thrilled to get to know her. One of her big projects was helping the librarians sort and move all of the bilingual books throughout the library into one condensed section. Cindy herself is bilingual and sometime used her Spanish-speaking skills on the job to assist patrons at Wrightwood-Ashburn Branch, where she helped register and keep track of children participating in the 2016 Rahm’s Readers Summer Learning Challenge.
