Teen Voices: Cedric, Robotics Expert

Each month we spotlight a teen at CPL.

Cedric is a 16-year-old who frequents the Chinatown Branch and Harold Washington Library Center. He's involved in many ways at the library, completing his service learning hours, serving as a teen ambassador for ChiTeen Lit Fest and attends many YOUmedia workshops.

Cedric is well known for his interest in building and deconstructing equipment, bringing in things like old car stereos to the library to see their inner-workings.

It's a natural fit that Cedric recently volunteered to offer a Lego Mindstorms Program at the library, sharing his knowledge about robots and programming with others at YOUmedia.

Cedric offers this advice to other teens, "...have perseverance and show respect to achieve excellence. Having excellence doesn't mean you are perfect at everything, but instead, shows growth as a result of what you have learned. Going to multiple libraries is a good thing, as it allows you to know more people and have more access to resources with help from librarians."

Thanks for your wise words Cedric and for sharing your robotics knowledge! We can't wait to see what you take on next!
