Sunday Hours Begin This Weekend at More CPL Locations

We’re rolling out Sunday hours at nine additional CPL locations beginning December 22. Throughout 2020, we'll continue to roll out Sunday hours in all 81 locations.

Starting this week, these branches will be open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday:

Legler Regional, which will open next year with Sunday hours, is under renovation, so three surrounding branches—Douglass, Richard M. Daley and Austin—are open Sundays to continue to provide comprehensive service to the area. Harold Washington Library Center, Sulzer Regional and Woodson Regional are also already open on Sundays.

Expanding Sunday hours is part of an ongoing effort by CPL and the Mayor’s Office to ensure library services are more equitable and accessible for all Chicagoans.

“For Chicago to thrive, we need all of our residents—especially our young people—connected to rich, engaging and safe environments where they can be empowered to explore their passions and develop their talent,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot. “Our libraries are critical to helping us achieve that vision.”
