LinkedIn for Teens

This week, teens learned about interviewing, resume writing and networking at the Career Skill-Building Money Smart Week event presented in partnership by Chicago Public Library Teen Services, Economic Awareness Council and teen interns from On the Money.

If you're interested in finding jobs or researching schools, we recommend LinkedIn, a professional social network. According to LinkedIn's Customer Success Manager, Lainey Bell (pictured, right, creating an account with Christi), "LinkedIn gives teens larger access to a professional world that will help them discover who they want to be and what they want to do."

You can use LinkedIn to make connections with family, friends, mentors and teachers, or read helpful articles on topics like interview do's and don'ts. LinkedIn also has "new grad" resources and customized student materials that can help you create a profile, request recommendations, post visual resumes and add links to your portfolio. If you'd like to know more, visit LinkedIn or check out the newly-released student app (iOS and Android).
