Katelyn Patton uses thread and paint to create textural works that invite the viewer closer. This body of work explores houseplants, pattern design and repetition in nature to create pieces that are not quite reality.

She currently resides in Chicago and her practice is influenced by her interest in biological forms and processes and her professional work in textiles and window installations.

Katelyn Patton will give an embroidery workshop called Painting with Thread Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m. at Harold Washington Library Center. Register online to attend.
