Have you ever wanted to exhibit your artwork at one of downtown Chicago's most iconic buildings? Now is your chance!
Applications to exhibit at Harold Washington Library are now open. The application closes at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st.
The Arts & Music department at Harold Washington Library will be hosting four exhibits by local artists from April 2027 to March 2028. Each exhibit will be displayed on the 8th floor of the Library for approximately 10 weeks. In addition to displaying your artwork, we are requesting each exhibitor facilitate a creative workshop for our library patrons. This call is open to Chicagoland artists in any medium.

Artists new to our open call will be added to the Chicago Artist Files, an archive with information on more than 15,000 Chicago-area artists from the 19th century to today. Applications may be shared with our 83 branches, many of which also have space to exhibit local artwork.
Our judges will review the entries and make a final decision by December 15th. We look forward to seeing your work!
