Court Access Library Centers at Chicago Public Library

Chicago Public Library, in partnership with the Illinois State Library and the Chicago Bar Foundation, offers Court Access Library Centers at Harold Washington Library Center, Sulzer Regional Library, Legler Regional Library, and Woodson Regional Library. These centers provide space and dedicated equipment for residents without lawyers to appear in court remotely.

Library staff may assist with:

  • Providing general legal information
  • Accessing remote court appearances
  • Connecting you to referrals
  • Identify appropriate court forms
  • Instruct you on how to electronically (e-file) court documents
  • And more…

Library staff may not:

  • Give legal advice
  • Offer an opinion
  • Represent you in court
