Artwork by Janelle Stanley at Edgewater Branch

The Edgewater Branch will have an exhibit by artist Janelle Stanley on display during Native American Heritage Month in November.

Whether it's intricate symmetrical patterns or lush woven textiles, Janelle L. Stanley infuses her Native background into her work. Janelle grew up on the Navajo Reservation and is of the Mountain Cove and born for the Bitter Water clans; including paternal Acoma lineage. Janelle observes and integrates Native designs and teachings into her textile artwork with contemporary techniques such as textile screen printing or weaving on floor loom. Janelle received her bachelor of fine arts from Arizona State University and continues to explore different mediums in her fibers and textile work.
