Abstract

This collection contains school notebooks belonging to Clara, Elsie, and Walter Rupp, who studied at Blaine School and Lake View High School in the 1900s and 1910s. It also contains a few volumes of reference material, such as dictionaries and instructional guides, and a few novels.

Biographical/Historical

In 1910, the United States census shows siblings Walter Rupp (age 16), Clara Rupp (age 14), and Elsie Rupp (age 12) living at 3508 Janssen Avenue in Chicago. Their parents were Nicholas and Elizabeth, and Nicholas' occupation was listed as a manufacturer of furniture. According to the census, all members of the family were born in Illinois.

This collection contains school notebooks belonging to Clara, Elsie, and Walter Rupp, who studied at Blaine School and Lake View High School in the 1900s and 1910s. The notebooks cover a diverse range of subjects, including English, history, math, botany, and music. The collection also contains a few volumes of reference material, such as dictionaries and instructional guides, and a few novels.

Scope and Contents

This series contains school notebooks belonging to Clara, Elsie, and Walter Rupp. The notebooks were used during their studies at Blaine School and Lake View High School. The series also contains one unlabeled photograph of three children.

Arrangement

The notebooks are arranged alphabetically according to the name of the child they belonged to, and roughly chronologically within the materials for each child. The photograph has been placed at the end of the series.
