Provenance: | The scrapbooks of Fernwood Methodist Church were donated to the Pullman Branch Library to be included in the historical collection of the Chicago Public Library, on June 26, 1972, by Mr. and Mrs. William Fenstemacher. The scrapbooks were made available for research in fall 1982. |

Historical Note
Mr. and Mrs. Fenstemacher were active members of the Fernwood Methodist Church from 1948 until their retirement in March 1971, when they moved to New Jersey. Mr. Fenstemacher was a professor for many years at George Williams College in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Fenstemacher taught English at Fenger High School.
Scope and Content
These scrapbooks contain photographs of members of the congregation at various religious and social events. Also included are news clippings and programs relating to the activities of the church. These scrapbooks clearly reflect the strong role played by the Fenstemachers in the activities of the church.
