Once upon a time there was a serious, well-behaved young black cat.
So begins the very last story ever written by legendary children's author and illustrator Beatrix Potter. The never-before-published story The Tale Of Kitty-In-Boots is finally available on the 150th anniversary of Potter's birth, with illustrations by Quentin Blake. You'll have to check out a copy to see if that kitty is quite so serious and well-behaved as she appears!
Meanwhile, if that news has got you in the mood to revisit Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten and all your other old friends with the original illustrations, be sure to check out Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales. And you Peter Rabbit fans might also want to take a look at actress and author Emma Thompson's The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Did you know that Potter's stories were inspired by her pets? If you're curious about the real-life Potter and her kittens, ducks, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and, of course, rabbits, you'll definitely want to check out The Tale Of Beatrix Potter.
