Over the Moon about the Moon

Do you know a kid who's fascinated with the moon? My youngest son absolutely loves the moon, or la luna, as it's known in Spanish. While in the car, he'd often shout, "Mami, look! I see la luna!" His fascination has continued to skyrocket and now he's anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first and only total lunar eclipse of 2019, expected January 20-21.

If you also have a little luna lover in your life, these books will send them over the moon.

A curious little boy and his mother follow the City Moon on an evening stroll through their neighborhood. Young readers will enjoy chasing the moon and making comparisons to their own neighborhood in this sweet bedtime story.

Sun & Moon Sisters: Two sisters—Sun and Moon—decide to switch places after wondering, "Which one of us is more important? Which one of us do the people love the most?" The result is a delightful story of how each sister plays an important role and is equally loved by all children.

In Moon: A Peek-Through Picture Book, young readers will love finding the animals in their habitats around the world while seeing the moon phases through clever die cuts.

A Big Mooncake for Little Star, one of 2018's Best of the Best titles, pays homage to the Asian Mid-Autumn Moon Festival and gives readers a dreamy book full of stunning illustrations.

If your luna lover wants to learn more factual information, If You Were the Moon will not disappoint. It's jam-packed with fun facts and vivid illustrations, making it a great bedtime story and science resource.

Are you excited about the lunar eclipse? What are your plans to see it?
