Ladies and gentleman, start your engines!
I know I am fired up for the Daytona 500, which also signals the start of the NASCAR racing season. The Daytona 500 takes place at 12 p.m. Sunday, February 23 and will air on FOX. Coincidentally, this falls hours after the men's Olympic gold medal hockey game, which airs live at 6 a.m. Sunday. Yes, I will be up watching—then maybe I'll grab a quick nap and make some brunch in between the hockey game and the Daytona 500. It's going to be one heck of a Sunday for sports enthusiasts.
Stock car racing has grown in popularity over the years, and while I have enjoyed following NASCAR for a long time, I know many others are just starting to follow the sport and beginning to appreciate all that NASCAR has to offer. I just wish my TV came with Smell-O-Vision so I could watch the big race while smelling the racing fuel, exhaust fumes, asphalt and sweet, salty air of Daytona, Fla.
