Grammy Nominees: Best Spoken Word Album

The Grammy Awards are this Sunday night! A little known fact, perhaps because it is not usually part of the live telecast, is that there is a category for Best Spoken Word Album, which includes poetry, audiobooks and storytelling. Yay, books!

Comedians, poets and world leaders are among the past winners. Some notables include: Barack Obama for The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father; Maya Angelou for, most recently, A Song Flung Up to Heaven; Betty White for If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won't); Michael J. Fox for Always Looking Up and Sidney Poitier for The Measure of a Man.

This year’s nominees are a worthy bunch. You can tune in to the live stream of the pre-telecast hosted by Cyndi Lauper at 3 p.m. Sunday.

See who takes home the Grammy!
