I love love love this February! For such a short month, it packs so many celebrations in it to keep me busy and help me not think how much snow we all have to trudge through right now.
We have so much this month with the Super Bowl, Groundhog Day, Presidents Day, Lincoln's birthday, Mardi Gras, opens a new window, Chinese New Year, opens a new window, African American History Month, awards shows, and of course my favorite, St. Valentine's Day.
As I get older, though, my tastes and expectations have changed for Valentine's Day, and I now try to save money and also create activities that I can do with my children that are fun for all of us. I've found some books that help me celebrate this "lovely" day with new ideas for Valentine's desserts as well as crafts and decorations that I can make myself with minimal effort and expense.
