I'm feeling rather ambitious this spring and am getting ready to tackle many projects both inside and outside the house. This is my second year as a homeowner and I want to really "dig in" and "hammer out" some style on our home (ha-ha), but I don't have the funds to do all that I want to do (boohoo).
What I do have, however, is so much inspiration from some magazines like Do It Yourself, Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, Outdoor Projects and Remodeling & Makeovers, all of which I've read for free via Zinio, opens a new window. Not only have I saved on the cost of these magazine subscriptions, I have reduced some extra mail and clutter around the house.
Additionally, these books have been a tremendous amount of help in getting me prepared so I have the tools needed and can plan out my projects.
Paint Ideas & Projects: A quick book to look through to get the mind percolating on ideas, colors and space.
Young House Love: This is a must-read for any homeowner that offers detailed step-by-step tutorials. I even follow YHL , opens a new windowon Instagram and Pinterest for current ideas.
The Book of Home How-to: This is an A-Z encyclopedia with how-to instructions on virtually every page. Truth be told, I had to buy this for my permanent collection.
The Complete Book of Step-by-step Outdoor DIY: This book offers a wide range of projects to consider for your outdoor spaces.
Here's wishing you a wonderful home improvement season with some money-saving tips!
