I caught you reading, Chicago, and I like your taste in books! I spied several intriguing book selections on the Red Line these past few days and from the looks of it, you are really enjoying these books.
I saw someone with a well-loved copy of To Kill A Mockingbird. With the much anticipated publication of Harper Lee's Go Set A Watchman right around the corner, many readers are revisiting Lee's classic or reading it for the first time. We expect we'll see many of you toting around a Harper Lee book in the months ahead.
I caught a reader engrossed in The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Recently chosen as a One Book, One Chicago selection, it's an imaginative and thrilling novel about comic books, superheroes and World War II.
Finally, I saw someone on the train, fittingly, reading the The Girl on the Train. Hawkins' blockbuster debut has spent 19 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and doesn't show signs of waning. It's a perfect book to bring to the beach or on your vacation.
We'll continue to keep our eyes open, Chicago, and update you on the great books you are reading.
