Chicago Alternative Comics Expo and Printers Row Lit Fest

Have you ever heard of CAKE? We don’t mean the frosted, sugary dessert, but the awesome Chicago Alternative Comics Expo, taking place June 11 and 12 at the Center on Halsted. Come out and celebrate wonderful independent and underground artists, small presses and publishers. There will be comics for sale, exhibitions and more: you can talk to featured exhibitors at their tables, ask questions at the discussion panels and participate in activity workshops.

While you’re at it, check out the Printers Row Lit Fest on the same weekend. If you love going to used bookstores or you're searching for cool vintage science-fiction paperbacks, then you'll enjoy discovering new, used and antiquated books from over 200 booksellers from across the country. Check out their featured programs, and if you’re an aspiring writer, listen to what authors have to say during the panel discussion and you just might get a few pointers! This year's featured guest is the beloved horror writer R.L. Stine.

Have fun and be sure share your experiences in our Teen Chicago Travel Guide!
