Photographs from The Maxwell Street Collection are on display June 1–30 in the 3rd Floor Exhibits Gallery at Harold Washington Library Center. The striking portfolio includes 11 historical photographs by Tom Arndt, Patty Carroll, Ron Gordon, James Iska, Jack Jaffe, Kenneth Josephson, Nathan Lerner, Tom Palazzolo, Marc PoKempner, Bob Thall and Jay Wolke.
The portfolio was published by the Maxwell Street Foundation, whose mission is to preserve and interpret the history of Chicago’s Maxwell Street neighborhood for future generations.
Gallery talks will be held at noon in the 3rd Floor Exhibits Gallery on the following dates:
