Visit The Living Record Exhibition, an interactive, youth‑curated installation developed in partnership with After School Matters on the Third Floor North at Harold Washington Library Center beginning September 18, 2026.
This exhibition invites visitors to explore stories and artifacts from the 2021 Youth Time Capsule, while adding their own perspectives and reflections. Through immersive audio, visual storytelling, and hands-on activities, visitors are encouraged to engage in conversation, connect across generations, and consider the ways memory and lived experience shape Chicago’s evolving story.
Themes of memory, shared experience, hope, resilience, and change guide the exhibition—creating an ongoing portrait of the city and the people who define it.
Attend the exhibition opening on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5 pm - 7 pm. The Living Record Exhibition runs from September 18 to October 3.
