Salsa Moves & Latin Grooves: Celebrating Healthy Aging Month and Latiné Heritage

September 2026

September is Healthy Aging Month, opens a new window, and this year’s official theme is “Curiosity Has No Age Limit” and it invites adults of all ages to embrace lifelong learning and take charge of their physical, mental, social, and financial well‑being. This annual observance highlights the positive side of growing older and encourages everyone to stay active, engaged, and connected.

In celebration of both Healthy Aging Month and Latiné Heritage Month, Chicago Public Library is excited to present Salsa Moves & Latin Grooves: A Senior-Friendly Latiné Heritage Celebration, opens a new window, a joyful series of dance programs designed especially for older adults.

Whether participants prefer to dance standing or seated, they’ll enjoy lively Latin rhythms, learn simple steps at their own pace, and connect with others in a warm, welcoming environment.
