Illinois Kids Choose a Winner

Announcing the 2014 Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award winner: Wonder by R. J. Palacio. This book was chosen as the most outstanding book for grades four through eight by Illinois kids from all over the state.

A list of nominees for the 2015 award is ready for young readers to begin evaluating for next year’s vote, which will take place in February.

Kids are invited to discuss these nominees at 3:45 p.m. on the third Friday of each month at the West Belmont Branch. During the month of March, fourth- through eighth-graders may also nominate books by telling the children’s librarian which titles they think should appear on next year’s list. Stop in soon and tell us about your favorite books.
