Cradle Sac of Life: Paintings by CJ Hungerman at HWLC

Cradle Sac of Life: Paintings by CJ Hungerman is on display June 16 through September 20 in the 8th floor exhibit cases at Harold Washington Library Center.

What would it look like the moment that life is created, when our soul slips from one dimension into human form in the womb?

Paintings by CJ Hungerman depict the visual moment of coming into existence, traversing between universes. The artist states, “The layers, shapes and color choices explode into moving electrified surrealistic landscapes that engage the viewer with new optic riddles each time the art is explored.”

Hungerman’s work can also be seen in a mural commissioned for Chicago Public Library’s award-winning Chinatown Branch, opens a new window, which opened in 2015.

Hungerman will give a Stencil Workshop at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5 in Room 8S-7 on the 8th floor of Harold Washington Library Center.
