Get Your Blood Pressure Checked and Learn about Hypertension

February is American Heart Month, and the American Heart Association has resources and information about heart health and related topics. Check out their 2026 Toolkit.

The Library is partnering with the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide blood pressure checks and information about hypertension at some branches. These events are free, and no registration is required. There will be a short presentation about hypertension followed by blood pressure screenings at the following locations:

The Library's Adult Services Collection Development team created this booklist featuring some titles about heart health. Be sure to check out these books. You may also visit your local branch or use your library card to access online resources, such as MedlinePlus in English or Spanish, to learn more about heart health, hypertension, and blood pressure.
