February is American Heart Month, and the American Heart Association has resources and information about heart health and related topics. Check out their 2026 Toolkit.
The Library is partnering with the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide blood pressure checks and information about hypertension at some branches. These events are free, and no registration is required. There will be a short presentation about hypertension followed by blood pressure screenings at the following locations:
- Kelly on February 18th at 1:00 p.m. as part of their Senior Circle series
- Richard M Daley on February 19th at 12:30 p.m.
- Legler Regional on February 19th at 3:00 p.m. during food pantry hours
- West Englewood on March 12th at 3:30 p.m.

The Chicago Park District is also offering heart health screenings in partnership with various organizations. Check their schedule here.
