Exhibit: All for Print. Print for All. Archiving 16 Years of the Chicago Printers Guild

On June 2, 2025, a new exhibit, All for Print. Print for All. Archiving 16 Years of the Chicago Printers Guild will open on the 9th floor of the Harold Washington Library Center, featuring original artwork and ephemera from the Chicago Printers Guild Records.

About the Exhibit information from the Chicago Printers Guild:

In the spring of 2009, a bunch of printmakers from across Chicago met up at a local bar. The artists' libations quickly turned to action when they collectively agreed to set down their squeegees, step out of their studios and make plans to see more of each other -- all while elevating their art form in the process.

And that, friends, is how the Chicago Printers Guild officially organized.

Now 16 years later, the organization is still going strong as it continues to unite local printmakers (and print lovers!) through lectures, workshops, artist talks and studio visits across the Chicagoland area.

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate 16 years of this inky alliance with a first-of-its-kind exhibition showcasing hundreds of original artworks and ephemera hand-selected from the Chicago Printers Guild Records hosted in the Harold Washington Library's permanent collection.
