Community Building: 3D Print a City

Have you ever wanted to design and create your own city? Join us this summer and help us build a 3D printed city! Using free 3D modeling programs such as Tinkercad, create and design buildings, structures and other essential parts of a 3D printed community. Share your design with us and be a part of a citywide movement to create our 3D printed city!

How Do I Participate?

  1. Create an account on Tinkercad with the help of a parent or caregiver if you are under 13.
  2. Using Tinkercad, create and design your own unique building, structure or object that could be included in our 3D printed city.
  3. Email your design file to CPLkids@chipublib.org and fill out the entry form below.
  4. Your 3D design will be printed and added to our 3D city. You can also pick up a print of your design at one of 10 CPL locations.

How Can I Get Help?

Register for one of our online workshops to see a 3D printing demonstration or get hands-on practice and helpful suggestions for using Tinkercad. You can also watch our Tinkercad video tutorials about how to create primitive shapes and how to build a house.
