ChiTeens: Daniella

The third annual ChiTeen Lit Fest is April 13 and 14. Register online now!

This festival, created by teens for teens, celebrates all things literature. ChiTeen Lit Fest seeks to bring together young people from across Chicago and celebrate their talents as they express themselves through exceptional and honest art.

Daniella C. from Hancock High School is excited for ChiTeen Lit Fest and returns for her second year on the fest’s Teen Council. Teen Council members are the planners of the fest. They work together to invite the guest speakers and secure the dates and venue for the fest. See the Teen Council’s work at ChiTeenLitFest.org

Q: What program or workshop are you most excited to attend at the fest and why are you excited about it?

A: I am most excited to see the Can’t Get You Outta My Headline panel because I think it is very important to have a conversation about today’s political climate and what we can do to get involved through literary arts.

Q: Why do you think teens should go to ChiTeen Lit Fest?

A: I think teens should go to CTLF to broaden what they know about literary arts. There’s so much that you can do through literature, whether that be activism or career oriented. Any teen thinking of pursuing literary arts should have an opportunity to explore their options and how they can get a head start.

Q: How have you been involved with the Teen Council?

A: I’ve been involved in the Teen Council for two years now and have contributed by helping write invites and contacting different artists/writers to participate.
