Get Involved in ChiTeen Lit Fest 2020

The fifth annual for-teens-by-teens ChiTeen Lit Fest takes place Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 at Chicago Cultural Center and Columbia College Chicago. The ChiTeen Lit Fest provides a safe and creative space for you to unlock and discover your unique voice through literary arts.

Submit a Proposal

We're seeking proposals for workshops, interactive experiences and meetups for the 2020 festival. Teens, we highly encourage you to submit proposals, but the young-at-heart are also welcome to submit. Learn more and submit your proposal.

Get Published

Each week leading up to the festival, we'll feature teens' work online. Submit poetry, fiction, nonfiction and essays, reviews, blogs, scripts, lyrics or graphic novel panels. Look for information about how to submit your work, starting in September!

About the 2020 Festival

The festival includes a kick-off party Friday, April 24 at the Chicago Cultural Center followed by a daylong event Saturday at Columbia College Chicago. Chicago's storytellers 13 to 19 can attend workshops, maker and interactive experiences, and meetups, and connect with professional writers and artists.

This year, we're adding workshops for educators and adults chaperoning teens at the festival.

Registration is free and opens February 1. Food is provided for all teen participants on both days. We'll provide free transportation to teens from selected CPL locations. Information on transportation will be available in January.
