Our new Chinatown Branch opens at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at 2100 S. Wentworth Avenue. Join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a day of family activities and cultural performances.
The 16,000-square-foot, two-story branch incorporates unique architectural elements with traditional library features: a partially covered “living” roof, Feng shui-influenced interior design and expansive views of the city.
In addition to a large, glass-enclosed community room and small-group meeting rooms, the branch offers:
- An early learning space for children birth to 5 as well as a children’s area
- A Teacher in the Library and homework help
- YOUmedia for teens
- Chinese Heritage Collection with materials about art, astrology, culture, history and the Chinese-American experience
- A CyberNavigator technology tutor
