Chicago Public Library Extreme Weather Warming Centers

The National Weather Service Chicago has issued a Wind Chill Advisory in effect from Saturday, January 13 at midnight through Wednesday, January 17 at 9 a.m. Central and Regional locations will serve as extreme weather warming centers:

Harold Washington Library Center
Will serve as an extreme weather warming center 24/7 starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, January 13 through Sunday, January 21.

Legler, Sulzer and Woodson Regional Libraries
Will each serve as extreme weather warming centers on Sunday, January 14, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Monday, January 15, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. During these times, these locations will operate only as extreme weather warming centers; no library services will be provided.

All other CPL locations are closed Monday, January 15. To locate additional warming centers, call City Services at 3-1-1 or visit 311.chicago.gov.
