Chicago Financial Planning Day 2016 is October 8

Chicago Public Library will partner with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., Financial Planning Association of Illinois, Foundation for Financial Planning, U.S. Conference of Mayors, and Chicago Office of the City Treasurer to again present a free day of financial education on October 8.

Chicago Financial Planning Day presents a variety of programs with a focus on personal finances during tough economic times. The day features a keynote address  - Strategies for Financial Success at Every Life Stage by Christine Benz, Director of Personal Finance and senior columnist for Morningstar and author of the book 30-minute Money Solutions – as well as workshop programs addressing a variety of topics including debt, investing, Medicare, retirement, and budgeting. In addition, Financial Planner professionals will be available for one-on-one 15-minute sessions to offer advice on personal finances.

Registration is required in person at the Grand Lobby table, and all events are free and open to the public.  Programs begin at 10am and run through 3pm.
