Blackstone Branch Families Read, Discover, Create and Amaze On Family Fun Night

On Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. the children’s room at Blackstone Branch is transformed into a creative, fun laboratory of experiments, board games and Lego cities.   Wednesday evening children have the choice of completing a Discovery challenge, playing a board game, getting interactive online or building a new structure with wooden blocks and Legos.  Parents work and play with their children as they learn together the fundamentals of Zoo-opoly, the differences between predator and prey or new vocabulary with a friendly game of Scrabble.  The creative juices burst out of children like a geyser and form new insights for all of us to learn from.  Take for example the simple yet powerful poem of 6 year old Pharaoh:

I am Pharaoh.

I am energy.

I am strength.

I am power.

I am love…love.

I am the universe.

I am a leader.

I am Pharoah.
