Art Exhibit by Elizabeth Merritt Kong

Lincoln-Belmont Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May, featuring artist Elizabeth Merritt Kong.

Elizabeth Merritt Kong is a queer biracial Asian American who was born and raised in Southern California.  She earned her bachelor of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in December 2013.  Kong is currently living in Minamata, Kumamoto, Japan to conduct research for two artist books.

She has described her work as a meditation on observing and experiencing the social disruptions of life: “impelling humanity through an intersectional time and space, bodies interrupting each other.”
