Join the Chicago Public Library as we celebrate Arab American Heritage Month at locations across the city!
We have a variety of special programs planned, with several featured events happening at our Sulzer Regional Branch.
On April 22, join Common Threads as we cook Mujadara, a signature West Asian dish made with lentils, rice, and deeply caramelized onions. Space is limited and registration is required.
For children, enjoy a fun-filled day of music and dance at our Beverly Branch.
We’ll also host documentary screenings at our Chinatown and Back of the Yards branches, highlighting the stories of Iranian Americans—with a little vampire action too!
Plus, revisit a past Voices for Justice event from home also in honor of Poetry Month, featuring Palestinian American poet and author Noor Hindi.
By the way, have you checked out The Reading Set yet? For those looking to start a book club, we have a full list of Arab American options available for the month!
Finally, on April 11 at Sulzer, join us for The Arab Blues, an electro-urban blend of Arab musical traditions and Chicago blues.
