Join us in engaging and inspiring teens through dynamic College & Career events for the whole year of 2025!
The Chicago Public Library is looking to pay teens to help us run our College and Career Saturdays and to design resources for other teens who are exploring life after high school. If you are interested in being a teen emcee/writer or a photographer for this project, please fill complete the CPL School Year Internship application.
Internship Details
Both tracks of this internship will meet from January-December 2025 (with a 10 week break May-July). Interns will also be expected to be to work at four College and Career Saturday events in February, April, September and November (dates TBA). Interns will also help plan and organize other events and interview opportunities throughout the program that will be scheduled as needed Interns will receive a monthly stipend of $327.60 and Ventra Day Passes for all meetings and events.
Emcee/Writing Internship
Meetings 5pm-6pm on alternating Thursdays at Harold Washington Library Center
- Moderate panels of professionals with pre-written questions, follow up questions and audience questions.
- Conduct interviews with your peers about their future goals and interests.
- Write news posts about college and career planning and resources and help create the first CPL post-high school guidebook
Photographer Internship
Meetings 5pm-6pm on alternating Wednesdays at Legler Regional Library
- Level up your DSLR photography skills by capturing the action during College & Career events
- Edit, organize and select event photos to help promote college and career programs
- Plan photoshoots and select event photos to be used in the first CPL post-high school guidebook
