America…Get Ready to Rumble! Fighting for Civil Rights in the Ring and Out at Woodson Regional

Grace and Gillian, students at Lincoln Elementary School, explore African American boxing in the early twentieth century and its relationship to early civil rights activism at Woodson Regional. They entered their research project documenting the careers of well-known boxers Jack Johnson and Joe Louis into the Chicago Metro History Fair and exhibited at the Illinois State Expo. The exhibit is on view in the lobby during the month of August.
